LOOKING FORWARD
As far as the U.S. congressional election is concerned, there may end up being more than one authentic conservative in the race. The allure of a federal election is strong and there are powerful forces at play. Things could get messy and chaotic in the coming weeks.
If multiple Grassroots Rated conservatives end up in the race, your Citizens team will not plan on picking a favorite. Also, President Trump could end up endorsing a candidate which could further muddy the waters as his understanding of local Tennessee politics is probably limited.
On another note, the fight for the future of Williamson County seems to be coming into focus. Here are some relevant questions:
Is our future going to be decided by developers or by the citizens of Williamson County?
Do we want downtown Franklin to be full of local and unique shops and boutiques, or do we want to see those family businesses continue to be pushed out for larger chain stores?
Is our remaining rural land with farms and fields going to simply become strip malls and subdivisions?
Are the conservative values that built Williamson County going to be slowly replaced by pride parades and phony conservatism?
Essentially, the question is whether we will preserve our history, character, charm and values or simply become Davidson County lite.
On this note there are two candidates emerging for Franklin Alderman positions that seem to be centering their campaigns on preserving the character and charm of Franklin and returning the city to its conservative roots. We hope to provide more information in the coming weeks
Sincerely,
Your Citizens Team
