COMMENTARY

With the recent news that Mark Green will be stepping down from his U.S. Congressional seat in Tennessee’s 7th district, which covers the Western half of Williamson County, it causes one to speculate as to who might try to fill this vacant seat.

There have been some rumblings that Tennessee State House Representative Jody Barrett may enter this race. Jody Barrett’s state house district is just west of Williamson County and overlaps with Mark Green’s U.S. Congress district.

Tennessee Legislative Report Card has Mr. Barrett rated the most conservative member of the Tennessee House with a perfect 100 score.

If State Representative Barrett does indeed seek to represent the citizens of Tennessee in Washington DC, his candidacy would have to be seen as a viable option for conservatives.

As Grassroots Conservatives we will need to stay informed and keep a cool head as this race heats up. One thing for sure, we need a very conservative and principled person in this seat that will work with President Trump on his America First agenda.

The future of our county depends on engaged, informed citizens like you. Please help us spread the message by sharing this with like-minded friends.

Sincerely,

Your Citizens Team
